Arthur-Fitzwilliam Tait

(British, 1819-1905)

Tait is a self taught painter, first exploring this talent at 12 years old. His work consisted mainly of reproducing lithographies but he later moved onto painting barnyard fowl, wild birds, sheep, and deer. In 1852, Currier and Ives began reproducing lithographies of his work to publicize him.
