Clayton Bright(American, b. 1946)
Born in Philadelphia in 1946, Bright enlisted in the army upon graduating from a New England boarding school. Completing a tour in Vietnam, Bright was a paratrooper in a long-range reconnaissance team. Following his discharge, he found work in Australia, then hitchhiked through the Far East, Middle East, and Europe. Upon returning to Philadelphia the artist worked at the stock exchange until a chance encounter with a Jersey cow launched his career as a sculptor. Bright now works outside of his studio in the countryside west of Philadelphia.
