Edmund Bristow

(British, 1787-1876)

The son of a heraldic painter, Bristow lived in Eton and Windsor, where he was a court painter for the Duke of Clarence, later King William IV. Over his lifetime he exhibited several times at the Royal Academy, British Institution, and Society of British Artists. Members of the royal family patronized him, and Prince Albert acquired one of his works for the Royal Collection Trust.
