Franklin Brooke Voss

(American, 1880-1953)

From a family of sportsmen and artists, Voss studied at the Art Students League in New York, foxhunted and rode races in New York and Maryland, and painted racehorses and hunting horses for his sportsmen friends. Completing more than 500 commissions in a period between 1920 and 1950, Voss died as he would have liked — foxhunting with the Elkridge-Harford Hounds near his Maryland farm.
