George Wright

(British, 1860-1942)

The Wright family of Leeds, England, is known to have produced three noted artists. Brothers George and Gilbert were respected equestrian-themed artist, and their sister, Louise, was a fashion illustrator for catalogs and magazines. The subject matter for George Wright’s paintings included hunting, racing, and polo scenes; however; coaching scenes are his most appreciated work. George Wright was exhibited at the Royal Academy, as well as other venues, from 1892-1933.
