Born in Southwest France, Watrigant garnered an appreciation for horses through his father’s career of breeding and training racehorses. Watrigant uses a wide range of materials including charcoal, pastels, watercolour and oils and works on many different surfaces. The quality of his work was such that he soon became recognized as one of France’s leading equestrian artists.
