Anne Grosvener, Duchess of Westminster, grew up riding in Ireland. In later life she was a friend of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, through horse racing. The Duchess of Westminster owned Last Suspect, winner of the 1985 Grand National and Arkle, winner of the 1964 Irish Grand National and 3-time winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup (1964-1966). Arkle was named for the mountain that overlooked her estate in Scotland.
