A son of Native Dancer, Dancer's Image won the 1968 Kentucky Derby before later being disqualified. The horse had remained the first and only disqualified winner of the Derby until Maximum Security in 2019. Still the subject of controversy and speculation, it was still called "the most controversial Kentucky Derby ever" as late as 2008 by The New York Times.
Originally standing at stud in Maryland, he was sold and found his way to legendary French trainer Alec Head. In Europe, he sired Group One winners Godswalk, Lianga, and Saritamer.
