By Monsun and out of So Sedulous, the German born Shirocco was originally trained by Andreas Schutz through the age of three before going to French trainer Andre Fabre as a four and five year old. Best known for winning the 2005 Breeders? Cup Turf, he won six major group races in five countries. In 2006 he retired and was purchased by Darley to stand at stud, where he sired Brown Panther, Windstoss, Arrigo, Grand Vent and Wild Coco.
